Mbeki blames white racists for SA perception of crime
Mr Mbeki, I am but a citizen that daily tries to feed his family, enrichening myself with hard work and knowledge. I use the few tools I have to do this but whenever I leave my home I am concerned upon my return, the tools will no longer be available to me. I am unable to replace these as simple things like insurance, a security company to look after my few tools are not as essential as trying to improve my access to more and better tools. Three years ago my business was destroyed and I lost all. I have spent the last three years clawing my way back and am now in sight of success. My biggest fear right now is not being murdered but being burgled. Should my tools be taken from me I will not be able to feed those that depend on me. The following is my response to your stupid and inflammatory word in the last few days.

Its a fact then that only white people are victims of crime? What about the mothers in the townships burying their children? Are they not victims? How does this racist defence work in these cases? Am I wrong in believing that black on black crime is spiralling out of control? Should I move to the townships where crime does not exist?
Please Mr Mbeki, we have no fear of our black neighbours, Our sons play together, their son has slept in my home and gone on outings with us. Yet, according to you, our fear is not of criminals but of the swart gevaar? Please Sir, I was under the impression you were a highly educated professional gentleman. Do not destroy my few beliefs. 50 murders a day just for starters and we should not discuss the issue? Should we hide our heads in the sand? Maybe spend millions on security to ensure we are inside fortresses? Leave the criminals to roam the land and imprison the citizens of this fine country? That sir doesn't work for me.
I will have you know I argue against this evil each day, gently correcting the idiots that feel the need to use this terminology, For every one of them there are one of me and about 10 others that remain silent because they don't want to be attacked. These fools do not make a nation, a tribe or even a culture, They remain fools. Having said that no more foolish than someone that will use their fears and foolishness to brand an entire group of people that share the same complexion. Would you that I brand all people that share your complexion as idiots, incompetent and stupid because of your utterances? or because when I complained about the poor service at a national, the idiot accused me of racism because he was incompetent? Or maybe I should brand all because of the taxi driver when chided about his bad driving asked if I believed he was my garden boy? All of these are true tales but I would not under any circumstances brand an entire race because of the foolishness of a few.
